As the Wunder Mobility Summit 2021 comes to an end, the future of mobility becomes a little more tangible. That’s because the event brought together leaders, activists, founders, entrepreneurs, C-Level executives, investors, politicians, and journalists in charge of urban mobility topics all over the globe.

“This event is a big reunion of the mobility industry.” – Valerian Seither, Co-Founder and CEO emmy

Mobility experts at the harbor

The Summit took place in the International Maritime Museum, by the water of the beautiful HafenCity in Hamburg. On Tuesday the 12th, speakers filled the auditorium room with insights into the future of mobility. Meanwhile the corridors and mingle areas were buzzing with new business prospects.

“The best thing about this event is to meet people with the same mindset as you and see what their ideas are to address such important topics.” – Thomas Grübel, Founder & CEO Govecs

The speaker guest list had it all

Hosted by Wunder Mobility, the World Economic Forum and made possible by several sponsors, the event staged powerful discussions held by the brightest minds in the industry. Speakers included: Kalle Greven, Head of New mobility at the Deutsche Bahn; Karen Vancluysen, Secretary General of Polis Network; Tina Wagner, Head of Department, Ministry of Transport and Mobility Transition in Germany; Nico Gabriel, Chief Operating Officer, SIXT; Silvia Fischer, Vice President Smart Mobility, FREE NOW.

Profitability, smart cities and expanding rental businesses

Some of the highlights of the panel discussions were how to achieve profitability in micromobility, shaping smart cities in Europe and how to expand traditional rental businesses into the digital age. Guests were also invited to play around with new technologies, test drive different vehicles and connect with other like minded experts in the industry.

“Everyone who is attending this event has a similar purpose and vision of the future of mobility. The Summit for me and for us as a firm, is about diving into an exciting atmosphere of disruption and change – and bringing together people from different angles and perspectives.” Jonas Seyfferth, Director Strategy& PwC

Yadea + Wunder Mobility e-bike

And there was a surprise: The launch of Wunder Mobility’s new sharing-ready e-bike in partnership with Yadea, the biggest LEV manufacturer in China. The e-bike was introduced and made available for a test drive around HafenCity. The Summit’s participants were the first ones to see and ride it.

And to wrap up:
